The Deck of a Thousand Fates is an old tarot deck crafted by the ancients of the 7 first Rôm tribes for their seers before they were forced to roam the roads of the material plane. It is unclear how many of them still exist today, but 35 decks were originally created, one for each caravan of the 7 Rôm clans. They all have a unique look and fill, but they are always composed of 78 cards, with a major arcana of 22 trumps and a minor arcana of 56 cards. They are usually kept in a finely crafted holder covered with strange runes that was part of the initial enchantment. The cards' design is based on Rôm divination practices, but has always been personalized by its first bearer and its own divination practice.
Once attuned, the deck on you gives you a +2 bonus to spell saving throws and spell attack rolls.
In addition, each deck has 10 charges to be used on one of the following divination spells. It regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges at dawn.
- Guidance (1 charge)
- Augury (2 charges)
- Fortune's favor (2 charges)
- Divination (4 charges)
- Redefine your fate and change 1 spell in your known spell list (spell level charges, once a week maximum, Charisma roll against DC20+spell level)
Notes: Bonus: Spell Attacks, Bonus: Spell Save DC, by a Sorcerer, Warlock, or Bard., divination
Hi there,
Another item for my upcoming campaign I am working on and for which I am seeking feedback :)
One of the character at the table is playing a bard with a ***** kind of background, a tarot reader rather than a musician etc.
I am working on specific items those characters may get at higher levels (12+) and that could fit with their background as well as provide some cool but not too powerful capacities to the character. Ideally this item would be one he would keep until the end of the campaign around lvl 18 or so.
Thanks for your time and feedback on this one too :)
