This length of magical chain deals 2d4 slashing damage when it hits a creature. The target must succeed on a DC14 Dexterity (acrobatics) or Strength saving throw (the target chooses which) or is grappled (escape DC 14). Until this grapple ends, you cannot take the attack action, the target is restrained and takes 7 (2d6) piercing damage at the start of each of its turns. The grapple ends if you move more than 10 feet from the grappled creature.
Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
