Answers is a red leather-bound book with a slot along the spine containing an empty ink pen. On the cover is the word “answers” in the Infernal language, written in dried blood. Answers will provide an answer to any question written in its pages, provided the question is written using the blood of a creature who has died within the last 10 minutes and has an intelligence score of at least 6. The answers provided are telepathic and completely true, and sometimes accompanied by a vision. Only one question can be written per creature whose blood is provided.
Cursed. Each time Answers is used, the user must make a Charisma saving throw. The DC for this saving throw starts at 5, but each use of the book by the same individual increases the DC for them by 5. The first two times you fail this saving throw, you gain a minor detrimental property (as found on page 220 of the Dungeon Master's Guide). These can be removed with a remove curse spell or similar magic. The third time you fail this saving throw, you gain a major detrimental property which can only be removed with a greater restoration spell or a wish. The fourth time you fail this saving throw, your soul becomes bound to the service of an archdevil, and the book vanishes to some other foul corner of the material plane, to bring suffering to another.
