This weapon is not sentient but if it had a personality one might say it doesn't much care for anyone including its wielder. What makes this longsword stand out from its peers is not the accuracy or its depth of cut but rather the ability to change its damage type to suit any encounter. When attacking with an Allbane weapon, a player must declare the damage type they wish to inflict upon the target.
This weapon is considered to be a +3 Magical weapon when determining resistance but does not actually grant a bonus to hit or damage. It may also be used to attack ethereal creatures.
Change Damage Type:
As an extra free action, you may declare what type of damage the weapon inflicts, chosen from *any* damage type allowed; acid, bludgeoning, cold, fire, force, lightning, necrotic, piercing, poison, psychic, radiant, slashing, and thunder. This may be done after the attack roll is made but must be done before determining success of the attack. If the wielder rolls a natural 1 or 2 the weapon will backfire. If the weapon backfires in this way, it will transfer all the damage it would have inflicted on the target to the wielder. ( the Allbane's base damage type for this is determined randomly, or is chosen by the DM )
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage, Combat, Cursed, Versatile, Sap
