This flat round stone is about 10 inches in diameter and appears to be a simple polished stone. Uttering the primary command word while touching the stone causes it to begin to heat up. After 5 minutes of warming the stone emits enough heat to boil water. After 10 minutes it can cause flammable objects it is touching to catch fire after 1 full round of contact. The stone is also hot enough to warm a small tent. If the stone is picked up or held for any length of time when it reaches this temperature it can cause 1d6 fire damage.
If the secondary command word is used to activate the stone it becomes warm to the touch after 1 minute but is not hot enough to light objects on fire. If placed within a bedroll or carried it can help to stave off the effects of harsh cold environments. The warm stone can become uncomfortable to the touch if held for too long without sufficient protection, but is not harmful.
Finally there is a 3rd command word that when spoken within 5 feet of the stone causes the stone to quickly become cool to the touch.
