This dual tipped spear appears to be crafted from from an ancient metal of unknown alloy. It simultaneously feels light and versatile for its size and composition yet hardened and sturdy enough to stand up to the most brutal punishment. There are several complicated looking mechanisms near the center of this spear. As an bonus action, one mechanism can be engaged to separate the spear into two perfectly balanced smaller spears. These half spears can each be wielded in one hand, in this configuration they lose the versatile property but retain the thrown property (range 20/60). While holding both halves of the spear, as an action the spear can be reassembled into its original form.
The other mechanisms are used to active the spear's secondary property. You can use an action to press the button which causes the spear to become magically fixed in place. Until you or an other creature uses an action to push the button again, the rod doesn't move, even if it is defying gravity. The spear can hold up to 8,000 pounds of weight (or up to 4,000 pounds of weight for each half). More weight causes the spear to deactivate and fall. A creature can use an action to make a DC 30 Strength check moving the fixed rod up to 10 feet on a success.
Proficiency with a Spear allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
