Most who posses this item have had it commissioned for themselves. When first made it is about a gallon of metallic liquid, taking the shape of whatever container it is in, and is room temperature to the touch. The color of the alloy gives it a dull to tarnished silver appearance. It has irregular black marbling containing sparse gold flecks. If the adventurer commissioned the weapon he will not have to free associate the first form. It will attune to the first person to touch it with bare skin and it's command word becomes the first word they speak after attunement. After the command word is created, if the adventurer did not commission the item, ask them to give 5 rapid responses (word association) to 5 words that the DM chooses, one of which should be "weapon" (or "armor") mixed in with 4 others. This will determine it's first form the next time the command word is spoken. The players' responses may take some interpreting but as many as possible that make sense should be incorporated into the items' first form. After the first form is summoned, the player will be aware that he may choose 2 more forms for the item and know the command to do so if they have not figured it out. When crating a new form the player chooses 5 words to describe the form it will take. Any aspect not specifically chosen will become typical for the weapon type to that player. (example: the setting the player is in is a society that uses bone weapons and the player chose dagger without stating the material, it would be made of bone) It can simulate the look of any non-magical material, as well as increase or decrease it's mass to account for size and weight changes.
Whatever form it takes it is considered a +1/+1 weapon or if of an armor type +1 to AC. If detected it radiates a magical aura similar to the equivalent type of magic item and is of the school transmutation. If the form being changed into is one the user has proficiency with the transformation can happen on a bonus turn, otherwise it takes a full round while the user concentrates on the change.
If the owner dies (true death) then the alloy returns to its neutral state, pooling but remaining as a whole. Any attempt to separate it, finds the liquid remaining attached to itself whether it stretches out or simply spills back over into the main body of the puddle.
