Unbent, unbowed, unbroken- this shield is as sturdy and crushing as the will of the gods that once wielded it- Zeus, then Athena.
While holding this shield, you have a +1 bonus to AC. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC. Additionally you gain resistance to lightning and thunder damage while attuned to and holding this shield.
As a reaction when a creature misses you with an attack, you can use your reaction to gain a charge. Aegis can hold a number of charges equal to your constitution modifier. On your turn you can release the charges as a bonus action, charging forward a distance equal to your movement speed and making a melee weapon attack against a creature. If you hit, the creature takes an amount of damage equal to Xd4 x your strength modifier (X being the number of charges held in the shield upon using this bonus action).
Sentience. The Aegis is a sentient lawful neutral creature with an intelligence of 20, a wisdom of 20 and a charisma of 15. It has hearing and darkvision up to 60ft, but cannot communicate. It is said that pieces of Athena's psyche are the inhabitant of the shield, eagerly guiding its user to restore her to her former glory.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
