Weapon (longsword), very rare (requires attunement by a Bathing the weapon in salt water during a short rest)

This blade made of cold iron was forged by merfolk smiths long ago as a birthday present to their kingdom's ruler. After being left to rot in merfolk ruins 

While attuned to this blade you gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls with it and the following abilities:

  • Heart of the Sea: Once per long or short rest when you make an attack with this weapon and hit, you can (no action required) cause magical water and coral to appear around the blade as it strikes the target. The attack deals extra cold damage equal to d6 x half your level, and you regain hp equal to the half extra cold damage dealt to the target. 
  • Anchor Slam: When you take the attack action with this weapon, You can forgo one attack to chose a creature within 15 feet who must make a strength saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your constitution modifier) or be either pulled up to 5 feet away from you, or knocked prone (your choice) as you launch the blade of the sword which morphs into a anchor with chains at the target. You can use this ability a number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus.
  • Oceanic magic: This sword has 5 charges and regains 1d4 + 1 charges at dawn. You can as an action expend a charge to cast one of the following spells: fog cloud, gust of wind, create or destroy water, armor of agathys, speak with animals (but only on amphibious creatures).

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
