Armor (scale mail), artifact (requires attunement by a Aegis of the Stormblessed requires Attunement by a Creature of Good or Neutral alignment)

 Long ago, in a realm forgotten to time, there was the Celestial Storm. For Eons, this storm ravaged the realm, causing all but the most resilient to die off. Amongst these survivors were the Stormblessed, a race of pseudo-deities that learned to tame the storm. Over time, they developed new ways in which to harness its energy, creating majestic floating cities, powered by the pure energy of the Celestial Storm. They grew to be a peaceful nation, living in the sky, above the storm. Then came the Skybreakers. The descended from the heavens, laying waste to the nations of the Stormblessed, fueled by their own storm, the Everwind. As the world they knew was crumbling around them, the Stormblessed came together to perform one last rite. Using the entirety of their knowledge, and the last of their power, they absorbed the Celestial Storm, fusing its power with their own. However, the tempest was too strong. The Stormblessed were slowly being ripped apart by the Storm's Essence, and risked extinction unless they found a worthy vessel. Fearing this day might come, the Stormblessed had spent generations developing an aegis strong enough to contain the Celestial Storm. As a last resort, the Stormblessed infused this armor with the essence of the Celestial Storm, creating an artifact powerful enough to defeat the Skybreakers and their Everwind. Using the Aegis of the Stromblessed, a mighty warrior, Syr Kaladin, vanquished the Skybreakers and imprisoned the Everwind, preventing them from ever returning. Revered by the Stormblessed, Syr Kaladin and his Aegis protected the realm up until its ruin, and is rumored to roam the realms, hunting down the descendants of the Skybreakers, so as to prevent them from harnessing the Everwind once more.

This majestic armor is formed of hundreds of incredibly light, unconnected, teardrop shaped metal plates. The plates, while being unconnected physically, are held together by the Celestial Storm's essence. Due to this, the armor can shift and alter its shape to accommodate a creature of any size or shape. Although the armor can fit anyone, only those worthy of the armor are able to don it. In order to bond to the Aegis of the Stormblessed, a creature must be of Good or Neutral alignment, and they must have an STR of 15 or higher in order to withstand its energy. If a creature that does not meet these requirements attempts to wear this armor, the Celestial Storm will turn on them, causing the armor to shrink uncontrollably, effectively imploding the creature within and killing them instantly. The color of the armor shifts with the current weather; when a storm occurs, the armor turns a dark black/purple, and appears to bend and absorb surrounding light {creates darkness in a 15 foot radius}; when the weather is fair, the armor becomes a brilliant silver {gives off bright light for 30 feet and dim light for an additional 15}, and by looking deeply into its reflective surface, you are shown a vision of its creation; when the weather is absolutely clear, the armor swirls with brilliantly bright shades of blue and grey, almost appearing to be smoke {gives off bright light in a 10 foot radius, and dim light for an additional 5 feet}. This armor grants its wearer resistance to lightning, thunder, slashing, and piercing damage. Whilst wearing it, your movement speed become 45 feet.

AC: 14 + DEX modifier

Stealth: Disadvantage

Weight: 30

Special Properties: the Aegis of the Stormblessed has 15 charges. It regains 1d10 + 5 charges at dawn each day, and when subjected to the energy of a storm, it gains charges equal to half of its current charges rounded down {using this property, the armor is able to hold more than 15 charges, however for every charge higher than the 10th, there is a 10% chance that the armor will activate an ability other than the user intended - if this occurs, roll 1d6 on the Aegis of the Stromblessed Ability table to determine which ability is triggered - {THIS IS KNOWN AS "WILD EXPENDITURE"}.

Aegis of the Stormblessed Abilities:

1) Storm Step (2 charges / 1 action) - in order to activate this ability, you must spend 30 feet of movement. When you activate this ability, you may teleport to a location you can see up to 60 feet in any direction. Creatures within your direct line of movement must make a DEX 16 saving throw. On a failed save, they take 4d6 lightning damage and are knocked back 10 feet. On a successful save, your path of teleportation is interrupted. While teleporting, you become tangible and collide with the closest unaffected creature, ending the teleportation. Both of you take 2d10 force damage and are knocked prone. {If this ability is triggered by Wild Expenditure, you teleport to a random location determined by the DM.}

2) Shifting Shape (2 charges / 1 reaction) - when a creature successfully lands a hit on you, you may use your reaction to shift the plates of the Aegis of the Stormblessed to layer themselves where you were hit. This cuts the damage dealt to you in half, rounded up, however it has no effect against magical attacks. This lasts until the end of the turn, when the plates will redistribute themselves evenly across your body. {If this ability is triggered by Wild Expenditure, the plates shift to a random location on your body, and stay this way for 2 rounds. This uneven distribution of weight causes your movement speed to decrease by 15 feet, and it exposes your body directly opposite the location where the plates shifted, causing you AC in that location to become 10 + DEX modifier.}

3) Storm's Wrath (3 charges / 1 action) - a massive lightning bolt strikes the wearer of this armor, and is channeled throughout the armor, splitting into multiple concentrated masses of lightning, equal to the number of creatures within 60 feet of the wearer. They may launch these bolts at any number of creatures within 40 feet of them, however each targeted creature must have the same number of bolts directed at them. Any excess bolts are forced back into the armor, dealing damage to the user. Bolts targeting creatures deal 5d8 lightning damage, and bolts overloading the Aegis of the Stormblessed deal 4d10 force damage and prevent the user from activating any abilities for the next 5 minutes. (i.e. if there are 5 available lightning bolts, and 3 creatures within range, each creature may only be targeted once. If all 5 bolts were used, 2 creatures would be hit twice and one would be hit once. Therefore, there are two remaining bolts. These bolts overload the armor, dealing 1d10 damage each and disabling the abilities) {If this ability is triggered by Wild Expenditure, the initial lightning bolt does not strike you, but strikes the creature nearest to you. If they have immunity to lightning damage, they gain the effects of this ability. If they do not have immunity to lightning damage, they gain the effects of this ability, however they are dealt 10d4 lightning damage by the initial blast. Resistance to lightning damage reduces this to 6d4 lightning damage. Additionally, you must be one of the targets of this ability.}

4) Thundercrack (4 charges / 1 action) - you channel the energy of the Celestial Storm into the gauntlets of your armor, and by slamming your fists together, a wave of thunder emanates from you. Each creature within 25 feet of you makes a CON 15 saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 5d10 thunder damage, 4d6 force damage, is deafened for 1 round, and is pushed back 25 feet. On a successful save, the creature takes 6d4 force damage and suffers no additional effects. In addition, a thunderous boom can be heard up to 360 feet away, and any unsecured items within range are pushed back 15 feet. {If this ability is triggered by Wild Expenditure, the effects are confined to a 5 foot radius from the center of your body, and you are included in the affected creatures.}

5) Celestial Manifestation (5 charges / 1 action) - by harnessing the power of the storm within, you may manifest its essence in the form of any simple or martial melee weapon. This weapon is formed of pure energy, causing it to deal 4d4 lightning damage and 4d4 thunder damage, in addition to its base damage. This manifestation lasts for 30 minutes, or until you dismiss the weapon. By using a bonus action you are able to change the weapon type that the energy manifests as. {If this ability is triggered by Wild Expenditure, the DM determines what weapon the energy manifests as, and you are unable to alter its form or manually dismiss it.}

6) Celestial Burst (8 charges / 1 round) - holding your hands before you, you gather the energy of the storm in a churning mass of lightning and smoke. Once the energy is gathered, you release it outwards in a 30 foot sphere around you. Each creature, other than you, within the sphere must make a DEX 18 saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 6d4 thunder damage and 10d6 lightning damage, and is blinded and deafened until their next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes 5d6 force damage and is pushed back 20 feet. All non-magical objects that aren't being worn or carried within range also take damage. {If this ability is triggered by Wild Expenditure, the energy mass grows unstable and erupts within the armor. You cannot activate abilities of the Aegis of the Stormblessed for the next 5 minutes, you are paralyzed for 1 minute, and you take 6d10 force damage.}

Aegis of the Stormblessed Legendary Ability:

Form of the Storm (12 charges / 5 minutes + concentration) - the Aegis of the Stormblessed become supercharged by the Celestial Storm, transforming you, temporarily, into a Stormblessed. For the next 10 minutes, you become one of the ancient race. You have a flying speed of 50 feet. By using an action, you can create a storm that has a 30 foot radius, automatically dealing 10d8 thunder and 10d8 lightning damage to all creatures within it. Any creature that ends its turn within 15 feet of you is stunned until the end of its next turn, and take 4d4 lightning damage each turn they are in the radius. You are immune to lightning and thunder damage, and you gain resistance to all nonmagical attacks. You do not require oxygen to survive, as you are fueled by the storm within, and you ignore the effects of difficult terrain. {WHEN ACTIVATING THIS ABILITY, THERE IS A 25% CHANCE THAT THE PROCESS WILL BE CORRUPTED.If your Stormblessed transformation becomes corrupted. You gain no flying speed, and your walking speed is reduced by 20 feet. You may expend an action to create a storm to vanquish your enemies, however the storm grows no larger than 5 feet in diameter, and only deals 2d4 lightning and 2d4 thunder damage. Creatures that end their turn within 15 feet of you gain resistance to thunder and lightning damage for the next 20 minutes, and you gain the fear property of each creature within this radius for the next 4 rounds. You are still immune to thunder and lightning damage, however you have disadvantage against all nonmagical attacks. Nor do you need oxygen to survive however if you do not have a supply of oxygen you feel as though you are suffocating, taking 4d4 psychic damage per turn while your oxygen is cut off. Difficult terrain has no effect on you.}

This armor consists of a coat and leggings (and perhaps a separate skirt) of leather covered with overlapping pieces of metal, much like the scales of a fish. The suit includes gauntlets.
