Made of leather rendered from the dangerous and insane young black dragon Itorrais, this studded leather broke the minds of those that were commissioned to produce it. At first glance it looks like basic dragon scale armor, but under serious scrutiny, there seems to be more about it than meets the eye. Two sets where made and when worn by those properly attuned to them, manifest magic attributes not yet totally understood. One thing is for sure, there is a bond between the two sister sets, for better or for worse, we know at least this much.
You have resistance to acid damage and a +1 to your intelligence score while you wear this armor. When both sets are being worn by those properly attuned, a bond is formed between them. This bond allows you to speak into the mind the of other bonded wearer no matter the distance. However, this seems to cause headaches, vomiting, paranoia, delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, and trouble with thinking depending on the volume of use and distance between the bonded. These conditions don't seem to be permanent but are generally not understood as those that attempted to study them went crazy doing so.
Made from tough but flexible leather, studded leather is reinforced with close-set rivets or spikes.
