The wizard, Alana, created the blade for her lover, Meira Reylana the assassin, and in her image. Meira was a moon elf who possessed smooth silvery skin with brilliant blue eyes. Despite being an assassin Meira was loyal to her friends and didn’t pray on the innocent. She had a code and followed it feverishly. That devotion is what drew Alana to Meira. So, Alana had the finest elven smiths craft the silvery mithral blade with a blue star sapphire embedded in the pommel. Then she spent weeks enchanting the blade and finished by etching runes with her blood on the blade to show her undying love for Meira.
Armed with the blade and with Alana by her side Meira adventured around the world. Over the decades Meira became a renowned assassin but a horrible illness plagued her. On her deathbed she pleaded to Alana to place her soul in the blade, for the blade is too powerful for anyone to wield. With her soul entrusted within the sword Meira could deem whether the wielder is worthy of the blade’s full potential.
