A buckler is made from wood or metal and is worn on the forearm, typically of the wearers offhand. While wielding this shield, you have a +2 bonus to AC. You can only benefit from one shield at a time. (22gp)
Wearing a buckler keeps your off-hand free to use- but at a cost. If you use the off-hand to hold a weapon or use in holding a 2 handed weapon, you take a -2 penalty to attack rolls with that weapon. You use your "buckler hand" to draw and fire ammunitions on a ranged weapon without a penalty.
The breastplate and shoulder protectors of this armor are made of leather that has been stiffened by being boiled in oil. The rest of the armor is made of softer and more flexible materials.
