This seemingly simple belt is made with green leather and a golden-plated iron buckle in the shape of two overlapping circles. When held up to a light at just the right angle, the buckle seems to shimmer and shine with every color of the rainbow. If one were to stare into this shimmer long enough, they might feel as though time itself were wavering around them.
While wearing this belt, you gain the following abilities:
Do-Over. As an action, you may push the rings together (this requires at least one free hand).
- When pushed together, you and all of your belongings vanish from existence and re-appear in the exact state, location and condition that you were in 6 seconds prior to activating the belt (the belt itself is the only exception to this as the rings remain pushed together after you reappear).
- The past 6 seconds of your existence are effectively erased. This includes, but is not strictly limited to:
- Any damage incurred or caused by you is reset (this includes fatal damage to enemies).
- Any status changes incurred or caused by you are nullified (this includes beneficial boons).
- Any items you have acquired, used, or otherwise interacted with return to their state from 6 seconds prior.
- Any personal resources expended or gained (things like Ki Points, Spell Slots, Wild Shape Uses, etc.) are returned to their previous point values.
- If used in combat, any movement, actions, bonus actions, and reactions spent on the turn this ability is activated are not restored by its effect.
- As an odd chronological anomaly, people and creatures can still remember the details of any of these 6 second increments, despite them otherwise being perfectly nullified.
Leap of Fate. As an action, you may pull the rings apart (this requires the use of both hands).
- When pulled apart, you and all of your belongings vanish from existence and re-appear 6 seconds later in the exact state, location and condition as you were in when you activated the belt (the belt rings remain pulled apart).
If either of these abilities would have you reappear in a space that has become occupied by another person or object, then you appear in the nearest unoccupied space (chosen at random if more than one space is equally near).
If either of these abilities are used, the buckle locks into place and the rings cannot be moved again until the next dawn when the belt magically restores itself to its default state.
Notes: The buckle is said to have been salvaged from the fallen husk of a Quarut before one of its Inevitable brethren appeared to handle its removal. One might wonder why such a desecration would be overlooked by beings that seem to be all but omniscient, but perhaps one could surmise that the salvage and the creation of this belt were somehow necessary for maintaining the natural order of time. As a fun fact: the belt strap is made of dyed sphinx leather. The tale of its procurement, however, is much less fun..., Teleportation, Utility, Belt
