When attempting to open the puzzle box, you must spend a short rest interacting with it. After the short rest you can make a DC 100 check (any skill or ability). Each failed attempt permanently decreases the DC by 5 as you become more familiar with it.
An intricate puzzle box that can easily be overlooked as a keepsake or a knickknack. With a deeper inspection, one can tell that power lays within this item and that someone went through a lot of effort to try and hide that. The wear and tear shows immense age, use, and damage. It hums with an almost imperceivable energy that beats like a heart. Any trace of whoever created this puzzle box has been magically erased.
Notes: The puzzle box can only be inspected once per short rest.
