A radiant adamantine shield, inlaid with platinum and shaped like a diamond. Adamant was gifted to a cloister of priests by the gods of light to protect their people from an attack by a dark, evil deity. Once attuned, the platinum filigree morphs and changes into a holy symbol of the wielder and can be used as a spellcasting focus for cleric and paladin spells.
While holding this shield you gain a +3 bonus to AC, you have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects, and spell attacks have disadvantage against you.
Shining Diamond. You can use an action to make Adamant shine with a divine radiance. Each creature of your choice in a 30-foot cone must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 3d10 radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Unerring Faith. Once a day Adamant can cast "Shield of Faith" on the wielder. It decides when to cast the spell and maintains concentration on it so that you don’t have to.
Adamant can also cast "Light" on itself at will.
Unshakeable. This shield is made of adamantine, one of the hardest substances in existence. While you're wielding it, any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit.
Sentience. Adamant is a sentient lawful good weapon with an Intelligence of 14, a Wisdom of 18, and a Charisma of 10. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet.
The shield communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand Celestial.
Personality. Adamant is a gentle, but self righteous soul. It won't accept any wielder without good and lawful intentions, and will quietly judge anyone it deems unworthy. In battle it will quote psalms from the holy writings of the cloister to which it was gifted. Adamant wants to be wielded against the dark forces of the world, and will constantly try to cast its light to brighten the darkness.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
Notes: Advantage: Saving Throws, Bonus: Armor Class, cleric, paladin or lawful good creature, Combat, Warding
