You point a finger at a target, or snap your fingers in the direction of a target that you can see within range, and magical flame licks over their form. That target must make a Dexterity saving throw versus your spell save DC. On a failure, the target takes 1d12 + your spellcasting ability modifier fire damage. On a success, the target takes no damage.

If the target is already on fire from some other effect, the target has disadvantage on their saving throw.

This spell's damage increases by 1d12 when you reach 5th level (2d12), 11th level (3d12), and 17th level (4d12).
