These rare Bracers were crafted by Drow for the most experienced weapon masters of Menzoberranzans ruling houses. Only the highest trained and most experienced Weapon Masters could hope to wield these effectively and few elves, even the most experienced of adventurers have the power to wear these bracers on their arms so most who come across them choose instead to attune to them as anklets instead granting them the ability to move at phenomenal speeds during combat.
- While wearing the anklets a creatures speed increases by 20ft
- While wearing the anklets you have advantage on dexterity saving throws
- While wearing these bracers, you gain a +2 bonus to AC if you are wearing no armour and using no shield
Curse. If the anklets are worn as bracers rather than on the legs they come at a high price, only the greatest of warriors can hope to use them effectively due to the blinding speeds they move at. While worn on the wrists, the user gains all the benefits of a haste but has the following disadvantages:
- disadvantage on all attack rolls and any dexterity based ability checks.
- The user cannot cast spells that require somatic components.
- If the wearer rolls a 1 on an attack roll, the attack instead hits the wearer or an ally doing critical damage.
- While moving with the bracers the user must move their full speed each turn unless they succeed on a DC 20 Acrobatics skill check, if they fail they move their full speed in their chosen direction and then fall prone.
A character with a dexterity greater than 20 and a proficiency bonus of +6 can ignore this curse after wearing the bracers for a full month and gains the full benefits of a haste spell with no negative side effects. The bracers can only be removed while the user is incapacitated by an ally or with a successful DC 20 sleight of hand check.
