Mechanical Familiar

This burnished brass sphere of interlocking bands and gears is 3 inches in diameter and weighs 1 pound. As an action, you can insert a gemstone worth at least 10gp into the sphere and speak the command word. The gemstone is destroyed and the sphere transforms into a familiar as if you had cast the find familiar. The familiar can use the statistics of any tiny beast of CR 0 and is a construct instead of a beast.

When the familiar drops to 0 hit points, it reverts to the brass sphere rather than disappearing.
