This silver spiked ball and chain glistens in the moonlight, dark bloodstains of its previous victims and/or welders marring the otherwise pristine weapon.
This weapon deals 1d6 piercing AND 1d6 Bludgeoning damage on a hit. On your turn, you can choose to forgo a multi-attack in order to wind up and instead deal 1d12 piercing AND 1d12 Bludgeoning damage on a hit. The range of this attack increases by 5ft
On a critical hit, the target must make a constitution saving throw with DC 17 or have 1 subtracted from their strength score and added to the wielder until the next long rest.
On a natural 1, the weapon swings around and hits you. You take the damage, and must make a constitution saving throw, DC 17, or gain one level of exhaustion.
Proficiency with a Morningstar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
