Weapon (flail), very rare

The Ahuizotl Flail is a weapon made out of the claw-tail of an Ahuizotl. It has an modifier of +3 to attack and has two sorts of attack.
Either the +3 to attack is not necessary for a hit or it is. In the first case the target gets hit by both the spiky coat feature: the target needs to succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving trow or take 1d8 piercing damage. And the claw attack of the of the Ahuizotl: 1d6+3.
In case the +3 attack was necessary for a hit, the target only gets hit by the spiky coat feature.

Proficiency with a Flail allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
