This ebony spear is long, with a flat base, and a spearhead covered in sharp inverted tines dripping with poison.

You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. On a normal hit, the wielder can use its bonus action to make a DC 20 Strength saving throw to retrieve the spear from the opponent, which takes 2d6 piercing damage on a success, and the spear is removed from the body. On a crit, Scáthach's Wrath will go off without expending a charge. 

Scáthach's Wrath (1 charge): You can expend its charge if it is thrown by the foot (normal ranged attack) and hits a target. The spearhead will splinter into barbs and thorns, dealing an extra 5d10 piercing damage as the thorns travel through the bloodstream. Once this ability is used, the spear is stuck and can only be removed if the wielder spends 5 minutes cutting it from the body. In order for a charge to be reset, it needs to be bathed in a stream for ten minutes during a short rest.

Wounding: Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an attack using this magic weapon, you can wound the target. At the start of each of the wounded creature's turns, it takes 1d4 poison damage for each time you've wounded it, and it can then make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, ending the effect of all such wounds on itself on a success. Alternatively, the wounded creature, or a creature within 5 feet of it, can use an action to make a DC 15 Wisdom (Medicine) check, ending the effect of such wounds on it on a success.

Proficiency with a Spear allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
