Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement)

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

As a blade of cold black steal with a spiked crossguard and a razorsharp edge, Ashal'kor the soulreaper stands for the eternal wish of destruction.

Ashal'kor is an demonic blade befitting for the most cruel champions of the abyss. When it kills an enemy of small or medium size it gets one soul charge. Three for a large, five for a huge and 10 for a gargantuan creature. Should you slay a Titan with it, it will gain additional 10 charges up to a maximum of 150 charges stored in the blade.

Ashal'kor is a sentient Weapon with an intelligence of 16 and darkvision up to 120 feet. Magical darkness does not disrupt this sight. Chaotic evil in nature it seeks permanent destruction of life and will remind its wielder constantly to kill, slaughter and drench the world in blood. If a creature picks Ashal'kor up for the first time the blade wispers promises of power and rulership. As result the creature has to make a DC 19 Wisdom savingthrow or will be charmed by the blade for 24 hours with the strong urge to attune to this weapon.

This weapon is one of the few ways to destroy a fiend or celestial outside its originplane, because it will absorb its soul after its demise.

You can expend soulcharges as an action to cast following spells:

100 - Meteor Swarm
70 - Disintegrate
30 - Fireball
10 - Fire Bolt - Level of the wielder

Curse: Ashal'kor will not tolerate other weapons beside it, resulting in a -2 modifier to hit for all other weapons the wielder may use.

This weapon seeks destruction above all else. Even the destruction of its own wielder should the wielder not allign with its wishes. Once per day it can cast mass suggestion on level 9 with the purpose to bring its wielder down and find a new more fitting one. It will do so till the wielder allings with its wishes again. That said. Ashal'kor can be patient if the wielder needs time to prepare for great bloodsheed. (I advice to roleplay it and try to persuade the blade, but you can also start with a persuasion test DC 10 + 5 for every extra month.)

The connection between this blade and its wielder can only be cut in two ways. Through a Wishspell or through death. In the later case the soul of its former wielder will be consumed by Ashal'kor making a resurrection impossible for eternety. Ashal'kor can only be destroyed by the direct power of a god that is powerfull enough to archieve this feat.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
