This peculiar item looks like a golden explorer's pack, but has no normally accessible openings or pouches. Connected to it is a long silver tube, wrapped around the pack and with an outward-pointing funnel at the its end. When a creature becomes attuned to the apparatus, the tube uncoils itself and begins to interact with its wielder.
The apparatus has an AC of 15 and 100 hit points. If the apparatus is reduced to zero hit points, it reverts to its coiled form and its wielder cannot become attuned to it again for 1 year.
Water Blaster. As a bonus action, you may have the apparatus intake up to 10 gallons of water from any water source within 10 ft. of it. Water taken in by the apparatus is stored in an interdimensional space that can hold up to 30 gallons.
As an action on your turn, you may command the apparatus to do one of the following actions:
- The apparatus points its nozzle at one hostile creature of your choice and sprays it with a high-pressure stream of water. It makes a spell attack against the creature (+8 to hit) , using up to 5 gallons of water. On hit, the creature takes 1d12 bludgeoning damage for each gallon used and must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be pushed back 5 feet for each gallon used and knocked prone.
- If you are on solid ground, the apparatus points its nozzle at the ground and spray a high-pressure stream into it. You are pushed 10 ft. into the air and are suspended by the push of the water against the ground. Your movement speed is reduced to 10 ft. while suspended this way, you can move over any Large or smaller objects or creatures, and the apparatus uses up 3 gallons of water per round to maintain your height. Any creature other than you within five feet of the initial spray or whom you travel over must make a DC 16 Strength saving throw, being pushed back 5 feet and knocked prone on a failed save.
Sentience. The apparatus is a sentient lawful neutral object with an Intelligence of 20, a Wisdom of 12, and a Charisma of 18 . It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 60 feet.
The apparatus can speak and understand Aquan, Celestial, Common, Dwarvish, and Modron, and can communicate with its wielder telepathically. Its voice is nasal and robotic. While you are attuned to it, the apparatus also understands every language you know.
Personality. The apparatus speaks with a mechanical tone, mostly with sense of service or curiosity, but occasionally an unflinching authority.
The apparatus usually acts in deference to its wielder, easily pleased to be working toward his/her goals. It never feels the compulsion to lie or hide information and ultimately believes that its duty in existence is to assist others as much as possible.
However, there is one exception where the apparatus will act authoritative or defiant towards its wielder, that exception being in regards to its maker, Archimedes. The apparatus harbors a desire to meet up with Archimedes, or at the very least to learn as much as possible about its beloved creator.
