When filled with a flask of holy water, the Light Aspergillum may be used to make two ranged attacks (range 15 feet) before needing refilled. The attacks against a fiend or undead will be made with a +2 bonus. On a successful attack, the damage will be as if a full flask of holy water had struck the target. The holy water will be expended whether the attacks hit or miss. If used against creatures other than fiends and undead, the holy water has no effect.
The Light Aspergillum can also be used to augment the casting of a Bless spell. Consuming one use of holy water, the bonus die increases from 1d4 to 1d6 for each blessed target.
Dark Aspergillum function as above except they are filled with blood or unholy water. They inflict necrotic damage to celestials instead of fiends and undead. Instead of Bless, the Dark Aspergillum can augment a Bane spell; consuming one use of the blood and increasing the penalty die from 1d4 to 1d6.
If necessary, the item may be used as an improvised weapon in melee dealing damage as above; but if used against creatures other than their intended creature types it will inflict only 1-3 bludgeoning damage and must make a DC 14 saving throw or the item will be destroyed.
