Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement by a Shardar-Kai or Shadow Fey Touched)

The Blade of Desolation destroys the psychic resolve of its opponents bringing them ever so a step closer to despair and gloom.

 

The sword may appear cursed to casual investigation, any non-shadowfell based creature that touches the sword with their flesh suffers 1d6 necrotic damage per round while touching.

In the hands of a Shardar-Kai, the blade imparts unto its attuned wielder:

  • Inflict psychic and necrotic damage
  • Favored enemy: Inflict additional damage on elves who committed evil acts recently (within last 24 hours)
  • Shadow Powers (6 charges that are fully renewed by felling a favored enemy)
  • On a Natural 20, the wielder may use a Shadow Power without expending charges.
 
Shadow powers

Darkness (1 charge). Cast darkness

Drain Life (3 charges). All sentient life within a 10ft radius must make a Wisdom Saving Throw or suffer 1d8 psychic damage. Colors are dulled from vibrant materials but return in 1d4 days.

Bite of Darkness (6 charges). The target takes an additional 1d8 necrotic damage and must make a Wisdom Saving Throw or be magically blinded permanently.

 

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
