Wondrous Item, rare
With heads made of forged steel shaped into a long, sharp, four-sided wedge, bolts and arrows of this type are deadly against even the best-armored foe.
This special ammunition confers up to +4 to hit, depending on how much of a bonus the targeted creature has from worn or natural armor.
(For example, firing on a creature with leather or padded armor gives a +1 bonus, +2 against studded leather or hide armor, +3 against a chain shirt, a creature with a shield and leather armor, or ringmail, and +4 against a breastplate, chainmail, plate, etc. The bonus given against naturally-armored creatures depends on the nature of the armor and is at the DM's discretion).
