Floating Spellbook

Convenience is important.

This spellbook may levitate in place when opened to facilitate easy reading. The innate magic of the book also allows any spell written within to be cast as a RITUAL. Spells cast directly in this way add 1d4 x10 minutes in casting time and do not expend a spell slot.

The spellbook is not protected and may be snatched with a DC of 5. The owner may contest any snatching attempt with their own Dexterity check.

With (optional) attunement, as the wizard grows in power so too does the spellbook:

• At 3rd level, the book may float along with the wizard if they move.
• At 5th level, the book is warded to evade against potential snatchers with a DC equal to the spellcaster's spellcasting DC.
• At 8th level, the book is protected by magic that forces a Constitution Saving Throw against the spellcaster's DC on first touch, or be rendered unconscious for 1 round.
