This magical item allows the user to play against a game against an unseen opponent. The pieces magically move when no one is looking. If the pieces are scattered or taken, they magically reappear on the board at the last set up...when no one is looking.

The chessboard starts out with 15 charges. Once per day the player may make an Intelligence Check vs DC equal to (20 - current number of charges). Proficiency with chess or dragon chess games allows ADVANTAGE. If the player succeeds, a charge is expended and the game resets for a new game at the new DC.  If the player fails, a charge is not expended and the game resets for a new game at the same DC.

Once all charges are expended, the player is permanently granted higher Intelligence +1 (maximum 20) and the board loses all its magical properties.
