This magical armor is made of black, narrow, vertical strips of metal riveted to a backing of leather that is worn over cloth padding. Flexible chain mail protects the joints and 2 short spikes of an unusual nature protrude from the bracers on either arm. While attuned to this armor, anything that touches it causes the armor to ripple with energy originating from the point of contact. It briefly changes appearance to match the material which made contact with it.
You gain a +1 bonus to AC every time you are hit with a weapon attack while wearing this armor up to a maximum of 5. This bonus lasts until the start of your next turn.

Posted Dec 14, 2021Looking for feedback on this armor. Trying to help my DM come up with rules around this that don't make it completely broken, this is my first pass and also one of my first homebrew items. It was crafted from existing armor and magically infused with melted down zorbo claws by an Artificer (me) to gain a temporary benefit to AC.
I can't figure out how to remove the last sentence in the item description either so any help with that would be much appreciated (it is not there when editing so no clue what to do).
