A'strix Tome of Blood Magics and Sorcery

A mystical tome developed by Galen A'strix. Using lost forbidden magics he was able to create a semi-sentient spell book usable only by him and his kin.

The tome, when attuned, will gain the ability to become one with its wielder. This allows it to change shape between a book, or magical blood rune tattoos covering the whole of the users body. These tattoos offer many powers, but come at a great cost to its wielder. The tome is also able to create a simulacrum out of the blood stored within its pages to act as a familiar for its wielder.

In both forms its wielder gains a +2 to Intelligence Saving Throws, a +2 to Arcana Checks, 4 Sorcery points, and access to the following metamagic options : subtle spell, twin spell, and quickened spell.

The wielder can cast a prepared spell, without consuming a spell slot, for a cost of 10% of their health point maximum per spell level.  Health point maximum is restored after a long rest for a 50% or lower reduction with 1 day being added for every 10% reduction over 50% as their blood supply recovers. (this can be hastened by consuming blood).

Grants the following effects while in book form:

Can instantly absorb any other Spellbook or scroll and add its content to its list of available spells.

When you are hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to expend 1 charge to teleport up to 10 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. If your new position is out of range of the attack, it misses you. (3 charges refresh on long rest).

When a creature you can see within 30 feet of you makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can use your reaction to expend 1 charge and force the creature to roll a d4 and apply the number rolled as a bonus or penalty (your choice) to the original roll. You can do this after you see the roll but before its effects are applied. (3 charges refresh on long rest).

Grants the effects of the Following Magical Items in tattoo form:

Barrier Tattoo (Very Rare)

Lifewell Tattoo

Illuminating Tattoo

Notes: blood relative of Galen A'stix, and giving the book permission to merge with the wielder's body.
