This arrow seems to look like a regular ordinary arrow, except when it is imbued with the magic of a spell that a spellcaster can focus on.
Once the spell has been focused, it changes to suit the need of the spell. The only spells one can cast on the arrow is a spell that requires a touch. Once the spell is imbued to the arrow by expending a spell slot, it remains in the arrow until it is used, or after a long rest, at which point the arrow loses its magic.
for example, if the spell cure wounds is cast upon it, the arrow glows with radiant energy that seems to look more gentle and calming.
When the Arrow of Many Tricks is used with a bow, the archer can choose to shoot the arrow at any target, as long as it could be a recipient of touch spell. the arrow then casts the spell upon impact, performing whatever action the spell was, and then it becomes normal again, and must be retrieved. Once retrieved the arrow cannot be imbued with another spell until after a long rest.
