Amulet of Death Warding

When worn, this amulet confers 3 charges of the spell Death Ward. Each charge is active for as long as the amulet is worn. 

If the wearer would drop to 0 hit points as a result of taking damage, a charge is expended and the the target instead drops to 1 hit point.

If the wearer is subjected to an effect that would kill it instantaneously without dealing damage, a charge is expended and that effect is instead negated against the target.

This amulet comprises of three interconnected silver parts, representing each of its three charges. Each time a charge is expended, a section of the silver amulet blackens. The amulet cannot be recharged.
