when attuning, the amulet of devouring will mend to your skin and cannot be taken off, unless of course, you cut it out , but then you would have something else to worry about, the amulet will share its wisdom with you, it has seen kingdoms rise and fall, its users fail and succeed in battle, it increases your wisdom in that sense, and it also increases intelligent, it has seen many things through the eyes of past users, though it is a help in many ways, there must also be room for failure, this thing is very much alive and you must feed it one ration a day, or it will devour a large clump of skin, take one d20 damage because those teeth and jagged and sharp.
