Arcane Carving

These carvings on an object are imbued with the source of your power and infused with dusty material originating the space between planes. Once carved into an object, you gain the following benefits:

• You can use that object as a spellcasting focus for your spells. 
• You can try to cast a spell from your current spell list that you don’t know or have prepared. You must make a DC 10 + the spell's level (add 0 for a cantrip) Intelligence (Arcana) check. If the check succeeds, you cast the spell and expend a spell slot of the appropriate level. If the check fails, so does the spell, and the action and slot used to cast the spell is wasted. In either case, you can’t use this property or the below property again until you finish a long rest.
• You can try to cast a spell you know or have prepared as a ritual, even if the spell lacks the ritual tag. You must make a DC 12 + the spell's level (add 0 for a cantrip) Intelligence (Arcana) check. If the check succeeds, you can take 10 minutes to cast the spell and not expend a spell slot to do so. If the check fails, so does the spell, and the action and slot used to cast the spell is wasted. In either case, you can’t use this property or the above property again until you finish a long rest.
