All Arcanum acts as an energy source when a spell is stored within, being able to power lights and machines and some of the stronger Arcanum can even power entire houses or streets.
Unrefined (Common)
Any creature can cast a spell of 1st level into the ore by touching the ore as the spell is cast. The spell has no effect, other than to be stored in the ore. The spell must cost an action to cast and the magic missile spell cannot be stored within arcanum or a spell that requires concentration. If the ore can't hold the spell, the spell is expended without effect.
When the ore is disturbed (such as being thrown on the ground or shook) it casts the spell on the closest target within range. If there are multiple targets within range or the spell does not target a single creature or object, the DM chooses where the spell is cast. The spell uses the slot level, spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and spellcasting ability of the original caster, but is otherwise treated as if the Ore where to cast the spell. The spell cast from the ore is no longer stored in it, and the Arcanum cannot be used for this feature afterwards.
The Arcanum can be dispelled by a spell such as dispel magic or anti-magic field, being treated as a 1st level spell.
Refined (Uncommon)
Any creature can cast a spell of 1st level into the ore by touching the ore as the spell is cast. The spell has no effect, other than to be stored in the ore. The spell must cost an action to cast and the magic missile spell cannot be stored within arcanum. If the ore can't hold the spell, the spell is expended without effect.
As an action you can activate the ore (by crushing it or using a specialized machine to harness it) to cast the spell stored within. The spell uses the slot level, spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and spellcasting ability of the original caster, but is otherwise treated as if you cast the spell. The spell cast from the ore is no longer stored in it, freeing up space. (if you crushed the arcanum it cannot be used, but can be repaired with any spell that restores hit points or the lesser restoration or greater restoration spell, along with the mending spell.)
The Arcanum can be dispelled by a spell such as dispel magic or anti-magic field, being treated as a 2nd level spell.
Destructive (Rare)
Any creature can cast a spell of 1st level or 2nd level into the ore by touching the ore as the spell is cast.
Any damage dealt with the spell is amplified, dealing an extra 2d10 damage of the original damage type to a single creature hit of your choice.
The Arcanum can be dispelled by a spell such as dispel magic or anti-magic field, being treated as a 3rd level spell.
Overflowing (Legendary)
Any creature can last a spell of 1st through 5th level into the ore by touching the ore as the spell is cast. The spell has no effect, other than to be stored in the ore. The spell must cost an action to cast and the magic missile spell cannot be stored within arcanum. If the ore can't hold the spell, the spell is expended without effect.
As an action you can activate the ore (by using a specialized machine to harness it) to cast the spell stored within. Any damage dealt with the spell is amplified, dealing an extra 2d10 damage of the original damage type to a single creature hit of your choice. The spell uses the slot level, spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and spellcasting ability of the original caster, but is otherwise treated as if you cast the spell. After the Spell is cast the ore will continuously cast the spell on the same target (if the target is within range and the spell does not require concentration) each minute the ore is still active. Each time the spell is cast henceforth, each creature within 10ft of the spell is dealt 2d10 psychic damage and the caster is dealt 10d10 psychic damage no matter how far away they are, as long as they are on the same plane. If a creature survives this damage they restore spell slots equal to 1d10(only spell slots of 5th level and lower).
The Arcanum can be dispelled by a spell such as dispel magic or anti-magic field, being treated as a 5th level spell.
