Ancestors’ Maul

This maul was passed down from main fighters of the arena and is wielded by the best gladiator. It is made completely out of stone and the head has cracks pulsing with energy that looks like lava. 

While attuned to this item, you gain a +1 to attack rolls and damage and you must have a STR of 14 to weird it.

Gift of the Ancestors: When you enter your rage, you gain a gift from one of your ancestors. Each ancestor grants you 1d6 of damage and each ancestor grants a different type of damage. Roll 1d4 on the Ancestor table to determine which ancestor is called upon.

The die you roll to determine increases to a d6, a d8 and eventually a d10 when you beat certain champions.

Ancestor’s Wrath: While raging, if you begin your turn with no more than half of your maximum hit points, you must succeed on a DC 10 Wisdom saving throw or move directly towards the nearest creature to you and use the Attack action against that creature. You can choose whether or not to use your Extra Attack feature for this frenzied attack. If there is more than one possible target, roll to randomly determine the target. You then regain control for the remainder of your turn.

Proficiency with a Maul allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
