You have a +1 bonus to AC while wearing this armor. In addition, whenever you make a skill check, you can choose to add your proficiency modifier to the total. You can use this effect a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus until you take a long rest.
The breastplate and shoulder protectors of this armor are made of leather that has been stiffened by being boiled in oil. The rest of the armor is made of softer and more flexible materials.
