This enchanted shortsword has been embued with the power of a stray lightning bolt, causing electricity to arc around the blade. The arching electricity flickers sporadically giving a dim glow of light in a 20-foot radius from its wielder. It deals an extra 1d4 lightning damage to any target it hits. The electrical arcing is only visible while the weapon is not sheathed.
Additionally, when you hit a target, you may choose to expend 1 charge to cast shocking grasp.
You must catch another stray lightning bolt to recharge the weapon (DC15 Dexterity check during a storm). On a success, you gain 1d4+2 charges. If you fail to catch a lightning bolt, you gain no charges. Ask your DM how many attempts you may make during the storm. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the shortsword no longer has the ability to hold stray lightning bolts and becomes a regular shortsword. On a 20, the weapon can be overcharged during the next storm. Ask your DM by how much and if there are any consequences to overcharging the weapon.
Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
Notes: Damage: Lightning, You must catch another stray lightning bolt to recharge the weapon, any class, Damage, Combat, Finesse, Light, Vex
