Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)
While you wear these boots, you can use a bonus action and click the boots' heels together. If you do, the boots double your walking speed, and any creature that makes an opportunity attack against you has disadvantage on the attack roll. If you click your heels together again, you end the effect.
When the boots' property has been used for a total of 10 minutes, the magic ceases to function until you finish a long rest.
Notes: Bonus: Speed, Buff, Movement, Utility, Footwear
Tabaxi monk 18/ fighter 2 with mobile feat. Base movement speed is 70, already quite speedy. Get Boots of speed haste potion and get ready for the moment of adrenaline by drinking the potion and clicking the boots. Your speed will be doubled by the tabaxi ability to 140, doubled again by the boots to 280, doubled a third time by the potion to 560. You are already fast but that’s just your movement speed. Now move your movement speed for your movement, dash as an action, as a bonus action for a couple ki points, action surge for another action which you’ll also dash with and for the action granted by the hast potion you predictably dash. Now you’ve moved 5 times your movement totaling 2800 feet in one round! That’s 318 mph or 511 kph!
can this stack with longstrider, expeditious retreat and a potion of haste?
These boots look quite dashing
I made a monk with a max speed of over 200.
I gave these to one of my players with a couple modifications. You can activate them twice for up to 10 minutes each time. But the boots were made for speed, not control. So when the player stops, they continue an additional 15 feet in that direction. If they hit a wall or some other object, they take 1d4 bludgeoning damage for each 5 feet moved after their initial movement. This could cause players to go over an edge as well.
Did you ever see the movie "Over the Hedge"? The squirrel drinks and energy drink and suddenly everything around the squirrel goes in slow motion. Best part of the movie.
erb did say "based on" not exactly a copy and paste.
Remember this is not one second it is 6 seconds so divide it by 6
What is Elk Barb
Elk totem selected in Barbarian,
boots have laces too not all but its not a stench of the imagination
I'm not sure if anybody said it but you can add +10 ft. base walking speed if in possession of a Wizard's Transmuter's Stone
I'm surprised you have to complete a long rest in order to recharge them. Every other magic item I can think of recharges daily at dawn instead.
Nice
why does DDB not load the bonus action to double my speed when this item is attuned?
Base Speed (Tabaxi) +30 ft
Monk's Unarmored Movement feature (Level 18) +30 ft
Mobile Feat +10 ft
Longstrider Spell +10 ft
Transmuter Stone bonus +10 ft
Bard College of Creation (Dancing Item) bonus +10 ft
Alchemist Artificer's Swiftness Experimental Elixir bonus +10 ft
Total Base Speed: 110 feet
Haste (Doubles Speed): 110 ft x 2 = 220 ft
Boots Of Speed (Doubles speed, Activated Previous Round): 220 ft x 2 = 440 ft
Feline Agility (Doubles Speed): 440 ft x 2 = 880 ft
Normal Movement: 880 ft
Dash: 880+880= 1760 ft
Action Surge: 1760+880= 2640 ft
Haste Extra Action: 2640+880 = 3520 ft
Step of the Wind (Dash): 3520+880 = 4400 ft
The most a Tabaxi monk could move (without homebrew or Epic boons) Is 4400 ft in one round The Tabaxi would need a college of creation Bard, a Transmutation Wizard and an Alchemist Artificer to pull this off, plus be level 20 and have boots of speed.
Hmm. Has DnD in 5e deviated from the rule that a double double is a tripple? I think you are all taking this a bit too far..
Normally it should be:
x2 x2 x2 = x4 base speed.
Because each doubling is of the base speed, right?
