An arrow of stinking cloud is magic ammunition meant to obscure the vision of its target with a stinking cloud. In addition to normal arrow damage, upon impact the yellow, nauseating gas spreads to cover a 20-foot-radius and its area is heavily obscured.
Each creature that is completely within the cloud at the start of its turn must make a Constitution saving throw against becoming poisoned. On a failed save, the creature spends its action that turn retching and reeling. Creatures that don't need to breathe or are immune to poisoned automatically succeed on this saving throw.
The cloud lasts for 1 hour or until a wind of moderate or greater speed (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses it after 4 rounds. A strong wind (at least 20 miles per hour) disperses it after 1 round.
Once an arrow of stinking cloud deals its damage to a creature, it becomes a nonmagical arrow. The arrow regains the 1 expended charge daily at dawn. This arrow can’t be broken, except when it is within an antimagic field.
Other types of magic ammunition of this kind exist, such as bolts of stinking cloud meant for a crossbow, though arrows are most common.
