Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a wizard)

In the early days of the War of the Gods, each side made attempts at creating immensely powerful objects to help gain the advantage. Powerful mages and cultists worked tirelessly to create legendary artifacts for their god's chosen champions. These objects became known as the Relics of Divinity. Scattered to time, they are all but legend now for those who study the war in detail. Few have ever resurfaced throughout time, and those that have were kept secret for fear of falling into the wrong hands.

Created by greedy mages to further their drive for power and godhood. Only 3 of these spellbooks with gilded pages and silver-plated covers were created during the War of the Gods, but only one has been found since the war ended. The book has an infinite number of pages, is three inches thick, eight inches wide, twelve inches long, and weighs three pounds. Red velvet lines the cover, the corners capped with gold and platinum, and a single pearl is fixated within the center.

Dormant

Most of the Lexicon Infinium is blank, but the following spells are recorded in the first pages of the tome: alarm, antimagic field, Bigby’s hand, blight, charm person, confusion, control weather, create undead, detect thoughts, enlarge/reduce, fear, foresight, gaseous form, glyph of warding, legend lore, Leomund’s tiny hut, mass suggestion, mislead, misty step, Mordenkainen’s faithful hound, prismatic spray, ray of enfeeblement, silent image, teleport, and thunderwave.

You can use the Lexicon Infinium as your spellbook, and you can scribe new spells into it as normal.

  • You gain a +1 to your spell attacks and saves.
  • You can use an action to cause the pearl on the front of the book to regain one expended spell slot up to 5th level. Once you use the pearl, it can't be used again until the next dawn.

Awakened

When the Lexicon Infinium reaches an awakened state, it gains the following properties:

  • You gain a +2 to your spell attacks and saves.
  • Your Constitution score increases to 18 if it is not already. You also gain advantage on CON saving throws.
  • The pearl can now regain up to 2 spell slots.

Exalted

When the Lexicon Infinium reaches an exalted state, it gains the following properties:

  • You can now use your Arcane Recovery feature twice between long rests, rather than once.
  • You gain a +3 to your spell attack and saves.
  • The pearl can now regain up to 3 spell slots.
