Wand, uncommon (requires attunement by a fathomless warlock)

This wand is carved of a dark-colored wood with a turquoise tint, and is covered in strange glyphs that glow faintly when a spell is cast. The wood is formed naturalistically, with swirling knots and patterns. The handle of the wand has scales carved into the wood, forming a place to grip.

The wand has four charges. It regains 1d4 charges each day at midnight. The wand can be used to cast Shape Water (unlimited), Cause Fear (1 charge), or Witch Bolt (2 charges).

Curse. This wand is cursed, and cannot be unattuned from until the curse is broken. Whenever you roll a 1 on the d20 for an attack roll, or are hit by a critical hit, the wand saps your life energy. Your hit point maximum decreases by 1d4 until you finish a long rest.

If your hit point maximum is reduced to 0 in this way, your body becomes a lifeless husk, your soul drawn to the darkest depths of the ocean. A greater restoration spell, or any effect that can restore you to life (like revivify), can end this effect.
