Wondrous Item, uncommon
This stoppered flask sloshes when shaken, as if it contains water. The decanter weighs 2 pounds.
You can use an action to remove the stopper and speak one of three command words, whereupon an amount of fresh water or salt water (your choice) pours out of the flask. The water stops pouring out at the start of your next turn. Choose from the following options:
- "Stream" produces 1 gallon of water.
- "Fountain" produces 5 gallons of water.
- "Geyser" produces 30 gallons of water that gushes forth in a geyser 30 feet long and 1 foot wide. As a bonus action while holding the decanter, you can aim the geyser at a creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The target must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or take 1d4 bludgeoning damage and fall prone. Instead of a creature, you can target an object that isn't being worn or carried and that weighs no more than 200 pounds. The object is either knocked over or pushed up to 15 feet away from you.
Notes: Creation, Utility
Eminem can say 45 words in one turn (6 seconds x 7.6 words per second = 45.6). Hypothetically, if he got his hands on one of these, he could say "geyser" 45 times in one turn, shooting out 1350 gallons of water over the course of 6 seconds (225 per second), dealing a whopping 45d4 damage (average 90, max 180) in a single turn.
i love shape water
just gave my players a reflavored one of these entitled the Decanter of Endless Shit. it does exactly what it sounds like it would do.
that's impressive
and that's cool :)
I'm not seeing anything that says this can't be safely stored in a Bag of Holding, so I assume that the water isn't coming from some other plane of existence!
I saw this and thought of mounting the jewel with a pin hole on the end. Say .035" hole.
Thus turning it into a water jet cutter.
Will cut most mundane materials in a matter of seconds.
Also, as to damage when getting hit with an unmodified 30 Gal of water, 1d4 damage seems about right.
Ever been hit by water coming from a 2" firehose at 20 feet?
Will knock you over; been there, done that.
for those who want tomb of annihilation easy mode
Give one to an NPC and you have a BBEG
Take the Mold Earth cantrip and you can dig a 5x5 foot hole to fill with water.
town Idea for your world: a beautiful lake fueled by a malfunctioning decanter of endless water that several races formed a union around in order to survive in the center of a giant desert.
With a formidable team holding the entrances, could you realistically flood Mithrall Hall with these through the chimneys with 1 decenter per chimney?
dope
The fact that this is an Uncommon magic item is hilarious to me. YOU GET INFINITE WATER, EVERYWHERE YOU GO. Half of your survival needs are permanently taken care of! You could make a thousand oases in the desert, prolong the lives of countless citizens, slowly push out toxins in poisonous water, and more, with a singular Uncommon magic item. Assuming the water is truly infinite, being created rather than borrowed, you could flood an entire city with enough determination. This item could single-handedly destroy an entire town, and all it'd take is a bit of planning.
This item doesn't just give you infinite water, it gives you an infinite source of matter to push out into any space you please. Instantly creating 30 gallons of fresh matter every 6 seconds is a massively powerful ability, genuinely rivaling high-tier spells, and it's an Uncommon magic item.
It does take an Action, in addition to the command word, to generate the water. So he would still be stuck with only a single activation of this item per turn.
No. You could get some very localized flooding of a few rooms, but Mithril Hall is made up of large caverns, at least one large canyon and many mine shafts, and would drain into the Underdark through countless cracks and tunnels.
Won't the cold damage be opposite the distance from user so if it's 30 feet away it would take 1 cold but if it's right in front of you it would take 30 damage
I just got this item in a game and.... quick math... 300 gallons per minute... thats stronger than most firehoses. I could fill 100 cubic feet in minutes. I'll never get stuck in a pit again. You'll just hear my goblin screaming "GEYSER GEYSER GEYSER" until he can swim out.
excuse me while I go use a combination of some of these, the magic mouth spell, and a very durable box/backpack to make a jetpack
