When you poke a hole in any map using this enchanted feather, it turns into a Tiny bird of the same species the feather was from. The bird will deliver a message for you to a target at that location on the map, as per an animal messenger cast at 5th level (giving the bird a maximum range of 350 miles over 7 days of travel).

Whether the bird is able to deliver the message or not, it turns into a non-magical feather once the 7 days have elapsed.
