Weapon (flail), artifact (requires attunement by a Requires Attunements from a Cleric or Paladin of Kossuth)

A single, simple steel chain attaching an iron lantern to the end of a short ornate handle. While dormant, the lantern appears as no more than an finely crafted hollow flail. But when activated, the lantern burns brightly with a brilliant fiery red flame. The flail was crafted by Ashra the "IronBender", for the sole purpose of delivering Kossuth judgement... And bringing a searing light into the darkest of places.

May the flames purify your soul from your sinful life...

When you roll a critical on your attack roll with this magic weapon, flame-like radiance descends on a creature that you are attacking. The target must succeed on a dexterity saving throw or take 1d8 radiant damage. This damage is not doubled by the critical hit, however it increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).

Let your belief guide you through the darkness...

If attuned to this weapon the wielder may call upon the power of Kossuth to activate the flail.

  • As a bonus action, you can activate the flail. Doing so lights the fire inside it. You can snuff out the flames with another bonus action.
  • The lantern emits bright light in a 20 ft. radius, and 15 ft. of dim light when active.

Proficiency with a Flail allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
