A hand forged out of iron, affixed atop of a light metal pole. The hand itself has sharp silver nails forged onto its fingers, small silver studs on its knuckles, and an empty gem socket adorning the back of its hand. This item is possessed by its creator and former wielder, famed demon hunter Nuahd, who had replaced his real hands with two prosthetic silver hands.
This weapon can be commanded to change its hand shape to any position that could be taken by an uninjured human hand. Depending on the form taken by the appendage, this can accomplish a number of tasks, such as reaching items, grasping onto a ledge, wedging into a crevice, or destroying obstacles.
While in combat, the wielder can use a free action to change the form of the hand. This can change the type of damage dealt between slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning. This weapon grants a +2 bonus to all attack rolls made while wielding it. This weapons is silvered, bypassing non-silvered resistances and immunities. A spellcasting class can attune to this item to use it as a spellcasting focus.
The hand is sentient, able to understand any language the player speaks, though it cannot verbally communicate. Should the player be incapacitated, commit a reprehensible act, cause direct damage to the hand, or be otherwise commanded by its wielder, the spirit of Nuahd can (at the discretion of the dungeon master) detach the hand it possesses from the pole. While detached, it has a walking speed of 20 feet, moving itself along on its fingers. The pole that is left by the hand functions as a quarterstaff. If the hand is willing, it can be reconnected to the pole, or a another item with a proper mount for the hand to attach to.
