Weapon (shortbow), artifact

This shortbow, inspired by Apollo's lyre, tunes into to the power of melodies to unleash bursts of sonic energy. Arrowsmith allows the wielder to play different riffs to flexibly adapt to any situation.

Magical Weapon. You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Riff. Arrowsmith does not use arrows as ammunition, but rather creates arrows of sound as it is drawn. Depending on which string you use, a different arrow will be produced: choose a string when you make the attack action. Based on your choice, your arrow will have one of the following effects:

  • The arrow deals 3d6 thunder damage to its target
  • The arrow deals 2d6 thunder damage in a 5 foot area around the target
  • The arrow deals 2d4 thunder damage to its target, and the target must succeed a charisma saving throw, DC 15, or be charmed or frightened of you (your choice)

Proficiency with a Shortbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
