Weapon (rapier), legendary (requires attunement)

This saber appears to be made of blacked steel that has amber seams through out it. All light is drawn in towards it and the blade casts no shadow. It is beautiful as it is deadly.

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Curse. This saber is cursed and possessed by malevolent souls that whisper warnings and threats to you. Becoming attuned to it extends the curse to you. As long as you remain cursed, you are unwilling to part with the saber, keeping it on your person at all times. While attuned to this weapon, you have disadvantage on attack rolls made with weapons other than this one.

In addition, while the saber is on your person, you must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw whenever you take damage in combat. On a failed save, you must attack the creature that damaged you until you drop to 0 hit points or it does, or until you can’t reach the creature to make a melee attack against it then you must attack the creature closest to you that appears to be the greatest threat.

You can break the curse in the usual ways. Alternatively, casting banishment on the blade forces the souls to leave it. The saber then becomes a +1 weapon with no other properties.

Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
