The Arrow of the Bat is an ordinary-looking echolocating arrow recently developed by artificers of Ispania. The thickness of the jungles and rainforests of Tupal made it difficult for scouts to identify ambushers in the midst of combat, resulting in heavy casualties.
Upon impact, the arrow creates a 30-foot radius ultrasonic wave that bounces on any creature or object larger than a 2-foot cube. For the next 5 rounds, the shooter gets a faint image of the creatures or objects affected, and can pinpoint their exact location. Multiple Arrows of the Bat fired within the same radius create destructive interference, canceling each other's effect out.
Ethereal creatures and creatures with total cover at the moment of impact of the Arrow of the Bat are unaffected by its sonic effect. Once it hits a target, the ammunition is no longer magical.
